Bristol Harbourside’s Newest Duck

Here at Good Bristol we always love to hear of a business taking responsibility for its environmental impact. On that note, we are extremely excited to say a warm welcome to Cherry Duck bistro, the newest addition to Bristol’s Harbourside.

Owned and managed by Bristolian Chef, Jack Bain, Cherry Duck is opening on the Welsh Back on the 2nd of December, and aims to combine great food with a clear conscience. It will be offering customers sustainable produce sourced from local businesses and supported by an ethical procurement and waste management plan.

Jack Bain, owner of Cherry Duck, said: “I am thrilled to be launching Cherry Duck in Bristol and hope that our philosophy will complement the city’s excellent green credentials and its bid to be the European Green Capital of 2015.

“Food is a big passion of mine, but so is the future and well-being of our local community. Cherry Duck will be working with local suppliers as much as possible in ensuring we offer high quality, responsibly sourced produce that also supports local businesses. We want customers to benefit from great food, a vibrant atmosphere and a good time, while knowing that are also be helping to create a more sustainable environment.”

Despite its excellent green credentials, this stylish bistro is certainly not restricted to the eco-warriors amongst you. With their wealth of personal experience, the Cherry Duck team are well aware what a difference serving locally grown food has on the taste of a dish. They combine their varied menus with cutting edge mixology in their cocktail bar, offering an exciting dining experience day or night!

It is fantastic to see a new restaurant so committed to the environmental wellbeing of their local area. We wish Cherry Duck every luck with their launch, and look forward to sampling the delights of West Country produce!
