About Us

This website has been set up by the Bristol Green Capital Partnership in order to build on the success of the Guide to Good Living published 2 years ago by Sawday’s Publishing.

Its aim is to help people choose ‘good’ places to visit, patronise as customers, or support by ‘choice editing‘ the contents.

It is our definition of good – which a fairly flexible and broad definition that is being refined as we learn more about what is ‘good’ – but nevertheless, it helps point people at places that we believe are trying to do the right thing to minimise the damage they are doing to the planet and its resources, and in doing so, helping us to become a ‘green capital’ – a low carbon city with a high quality of life for all.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, but please be aware that this is a work in progress. It is also a not-for-profit project, completed largely through the work of volunteers. We would especially like to thank Phoebe Smart for her dedication in finally getting it to go live.

We are unable to take responsibility for the accuracy of the information on this website as the businesses may change their details without informing us – however, we will do our utmost to make sure that it is as up to date as possible. Therefore, this website should be used as a guide only.
